Here are some helpful and
effective packing tips which will help you pack your belongings correctly when
you move from one place to another. Have a look at them.
Gather or purchase all required
packing supplies and boxes well in advance. Make sure you get packing supplies
of good quality and sturdy moving boxes.
Make spacious packing station at
your current house. Make sure you choose a space at the ground floor of your
residence; if it is possible.
Wrap items carefully before you
place them inside the box. Pack heavy items such as books, toys, etc in small
box. Don't overweight boxes until they are bulky and may break.
Pack fragile or breakable items
with extra care and attentions. If required, use more layers of wrapping sheets
or bubble wraps in order to wrap such items. Use wadded newspapers or crushed
papers to fill empty spaces of boxes or boxes.
Pack things of your house on the
room by room basis. Make sure to pack everything that belongs in a particular
room together in a room labeled box. Proper packing with proper labeling will
make unpacking process easier and simpler.
Pack an "Open First"
box with necessary items like dish soap, a sponge, a roll of paper towels, a
couple pens, scissors, plastic/paper plates/forks, a bottle opener, bath towels
for each family member, one pot, one pan, one plastic stirring utensil, an
extra box cutter, etc.
Pack a suitcase or box for each
member of the family several days in advance. Create a "Moving File"
with important paperwork you will need throughout your move. Clean out the
kitchen. Begin taking apart any large items and placing all hardware in
double-thick Ziploc bags according to contents and room.
Make sure you keep the box of
hardware and tools in a central place where everyone can find it. Stack the
boxes as you are finished filling, taping, and labeling them. Look in each
room, and make sure that everything has been removed. Place any last minute
items together in one room.
Remember, that when the truck has
been filled, and the movers tell you that they have everything, to check out
each room to make sure that nothing has been left behind. This is your own
responsibility. When you are certain that each room is completely clean, then it
is time to shut the door and leave!
